Sr. Maintenance/Labourer

Hours 40 planned hours weekly
  Monday to Friday + rotating weekend days - as scheduled by the Maintenance/Office Manager
Probation Period 30 days from Commencement Date
Reporting to Maintenance Manager/Owner – Ron Serez      Office Manager/Owner – Catherine Serez
Compensation Wage $13.00/hr  paid bi weekly
Criteria Must be returning to either Secondary or Post-Secondary school in the fall of 2010
Job Summary Maintenance duties will require the employee to be competent in the general maintenance of Saugeen Springs RV Park.  Maintenance/Labourer must be capable of following the Saugeen Springs Park procedures and responsibilities as they pertain to this position.  As a Maintenance employee and a Store/Office worker you must be willing to accept ever-changing responsibilities.            
Job Responsibilities 1.  Perform Saugeen Springs duties with regards to start up procedures for the summer camping season.
  2.  Maintain all equipment in proper operating capacity and stored in designated storage area.
  3.  Assist Managers in problem solving of all issues that may arise.
  4.  Required to maintain all building, and park maintenance on an ongoing basis.
  5.  To work in the Office/Store when needed and learn the Campground Manager Reservation Program
  6.  To take a CPR/First Aid and a WHMIS course as provided during training.
Job Tasks

Site development

Trench digging

Building projects

Mow grass and Whip grassy areas

Trim trees and hedges

Operate a chain saw

Operate tractor/front end loader/ with forks and a small back hoe

Maintain gas, oil and cleanliness of vehicles

Pick up and deliver garbage and firewood

Shovel, sweep and rake 

Handle and climb ladders

Trailer assembly and set up

Clean and maintain your job site and the central maintenance building and area

Painting  

Water leak repairs

Focus on detailed upkeep and appearance of the grounds

Finding work related projects during slow times

Dealing with customer inquiries and grievances

Answering the phone  

Taking and processing reservations both over the phone and online

Serving customers in the store

Setting up for Park Programs and Events

Other such duties as the Maintenance Manager or Campground Owners require.

Behaviour Skills Maintenance/Labourer workers are in direct contact with our visiting tourists therefore appearance, conduct, demeanor and strong language skills are essential.  Employees will execute the Job Responsibilities and Job Tasks in a motivated, efficient, congenial and diligent manner. 
Physical Requirements This position requires bending, stretching and lifting
Dress Code This position requires steel toed footwear and uniforms.  You will be provided with a staff shirt that  is to be worn with belted shorts or pants.  Please reference the Policy Manual.

Room & Board

Dinner daily and Accommodation is available for the duration of the job @ $50/week.
